Chocolate box nets

Kia ora eveyone! For this weeks math task we made paper boxes for choclates. This was all from scratch. We had to make some shape nets from paper and then glue or tape them together. The whole maths class was given a package that had either choclate, biscuts or lollies inside. I got an Old gold chocolate, a Dream that i then traded with someone to get a turkish delight, I had a cadbury dariy milk and lastly a crunchie.

I made a package that had a lid that could be remove and put back on the fit was nice. I giftesd it to my dad and brother and they both enjoyerd the chocolates. I forgot to take a picture but my box was made with blue and yellow card paper. have you ever made a paper shape net? If you have what shape was it? My shape was a long rectangle that could fit all four in a row.

I hope you guy have a good rest of you week and weekend. Bye

Sharing my knowledge on the Maori Korowai

Kia Ora! For a couple of weeks nows my class have been doing some task on Maori history. We had a few things that we could choose from like: the tattoos that the Maori people get and the skirts that they wear and some more things to choose from. But I decided to do some research about....Korowai which is the Maori cloak.

We had to find out what materials they used, the design and the use of the maori woven cloak. Here is my slide on the Maori Woven Cloak. :)

The cloak is use as gift of respect and honour. Do you know anything about the maori cloak?
I hope that you have learnt something in this post and that the rest of yor week is good!!

The things that happened in my holidays

Kia ora everyone!! Well hasn't the holidays just flown by? Now we are in term 4!! In my holidays I did quite alot of things actually! In the first week my Mum and Dad went to go and buy some more hay for my horses and sheep. I had to clean out my hay shed so then I could stack the hay into the shed. My brother, mum and I went to go ice skating and climbed at clip 'n' climb. So that is what I did in the first week of the term 3 holidays.

And finaly in the 2 and last :( my little chihuahau called Pippa had four beautiful puppies!!! 2 boys and 2 girls, 1 of the girls are black and the other is sable and that is the same colours of the boys :)

So my holidays were pretty packed full of fun things. How was your holidays??

Pretty pink shirt day

Hello everyone:) Did you know that it is Pink shirt day today? You may be wondering what is Pink shirt day, well Pink shirt day is when you wear something pink for anti-bullying, the reason for this is that there was a little boy who liked to wear pink and he was being bullied by some people becasue he wore pink. And so the children and teachers all came together and wore pink, apart from those who bulied that little boy.

I think that bullying is not good and that this day is a very good way to tell everyone that bullying should be stopped and that people can wear what they like and do what they like because those bullies do what they want so why should they get to tease people aout what they do!
I hope that you week and weekend is good and I will see you in my next blog!:)

Sign Language Week Tasks

Hey bloggers! Did you know that it is sign language week this week? For this weeks task we have had to do a sign language game and do our name in sign language, the sign language game is called Sign ninja. there are people on the app that teach you simple words like: Apple and Milk they also teach you how to sign colours like: Blue and Yellow. I think that the game is very helpful and cool I learnt quite alot. It was a cool game and I think that you should go have a go at it! I learnt to sign my name when I was a yr 4 and I have never forgot how to sign it, we had to make a video and sign "hello my name is Francheska"

So here is my video and the game sign ninja! Hope you like it :)

Have you ever learnt about NZSL(New Zealand Sign Language)? If you want to you could go and try to learn some on sign ninja. I hope that you have a good holiday and I will see you in my next blog :)

Super Science

Hey readers! Another Friday has come and for this weeks literacy task we have been preparing our own experiment. The class has had to find an experiment to do, and it couldn't just be one that was really easy like Coke & Mentos, it had to be an experiment that was interesting and had something that you could learn from it. My experiment is the differnt viscosities of differnt oils, I am doing this task with one of my friends and we are measuring the viscosity of oils with lava lamps. We also had to make of own slide of the ingredients and hypothesis, and procedure, so here they are. :)

have you ever done a science experiment?I hope you liked it and I will see you in my next blog!!

Rocket Challenge Script

Hey bloggers! For the past few weeks my whole class have been learning about rockets and Newtons1-3 laws of motions. Have you ever heard of him and laws? Anyway this week and the coming up week we are making a little movie on the things that we have learnt. For our first task we had to make a script. So here is my script!
My class was split into three groups and in those groups there was about 25-30 people in the groups, I was in a group with three of my friends, as you probably read I was with Riley, Macy and Emmelia.
The script is not finished yet but we will most likely finish it next week. We also made rockets that we launched, we did this project with some engineers that volunteered. I hope that you have a great rest of you week and that you like my post!
See you in my next blog post! :)

Sharing my knowledge on Flight

Hey bloggers! For the last few of weeks my literacy class have been doing science, and for this and last week we have been learning about flight. For one of our task we had to do a report one what we had learnt on flight, so here it is I hope you enjoy it!

As you can see I didn't do the summary but that was because I was sick and could not do it, but I got to do this task with one of my friends and we had fun testing and finishing the report.  If you read my report you may be wondering what the yellow highlights on the text are but that is just highlighted because someone commented on that paragragh or sentence. When you fly into the sky in an aeroplane you need thrust, drag, weight, and lift. Without these you would not be able to get off the ground. I hope that you have a good week+weekend and I will se you in my next blog!

Confusing Questions

Kia ora guys! How was your holiday? This week feels like it has been going on for ages, but finally it is the end of the long long week :) Any way this week in my math group we have been doing some confusing and hard questions. Luckily the class know how to figure them out! There were some questions that were hard and some question that were moderate. So here is some of the questions!

You should have a try to work them out. The way to work the problems, is to use algebra, so for the 3rd question the answer would be: (278km-128km) 150/2=75 so Mr Ducan was driving at a speed of 75km/hr. I hope that you have a good week and I will see you in my next blog post!

Brilliant Binary Codes

Kia ora everyone!

This week on Wednesday we had to do some learning on birany and ASSCI- ASSCI is a computer code unlike us humans how see letters as letters, computers see letters as 0 and 1. We where told to do our inistials in ASSCI code. My inistails are FS so here is my ASSCI code.....1000110=F 1010011=S.

We took that and colour coded the numbers, I chose blue as 1, yellow as 0 and pink as space. The teachers had multiple colored beads so we could make a necklace or a braclet or a key chain. Here is my key chain, in progress.
My favourite colours are blue and yellow, I just felt like adding some pink in there. When we chose our beads and colours there were many differnt shapes and sizes, there were even some heart beads!

Have you ever done coding or ASSCI?
I hope you guys liked my post and I will see you in my next blog.

Bye!!

Cool Comic

Hi everyone, this weeks post is kinda old because I forgot to post it so I decided I would post it this week.
My class was learning about irony: Verbal irony, Situational irony, and dramatic irony. I did my comic with one of my friend and we chose verbal irony. Here is our Comic!
I hope that you liked my comic. I think that it is cool, do you know what irony is and have you learnt about it?? I will see you in my next blog..... Bye!

Special Sequences

Kia Ora everyone! This week in my maths group we have been learning about sequences! While we were doing this task we found that there is a sequences called Fibonacci-Fibbonacci is a sequence that goes on and on and on, like most sequences, but this sequence goes like this.... 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13 and so on.
Can you figure it out? Here is my slide on Sequences....
I hope you learnt something and I will see you in my next blog bye!

HGTTG-Site

Kia ora everyone, It is Friyay! For my Literacy task, my class had to make a site about the book we are reading and I'm sure that you know what book I'm reading :).... Hitch-hickers guide to the galaxy.
Now for this site we had to make mutiple pages and do some writing in those pages. This week my class only did one page, which was to write an intro about the topic. Here is my page.
Now you are probably wondering why it is just half of the page, but that is because if I did the whole page I would have to do lots of screenshots, I will link the website below if you want to have a read of the whole site. I hope you like my site I will see you in my next blog.

Not a test but testing your mind

Hey bloggers!!
How has your second week of school gone?? I am soooo exited for the long weekend.
In math this week we have been doing work on shapes: how to make a triangle with a compass, polygons and lots of angles. I learnt that an angle on a line will always add up to 180*.  Also I learnt how to work out the interior angles of any given shape heres what you do- say I had a shape that had 4 sides, you would want to take 2 away from 4 which is 2 and then times that by 180*, which is 360. So here is all my work!

HGTTG Summary 3

Hey Bloggers! How has your first week of school gone? I felt that my week has been going for ages!
For this weeks literacy work my class had to do another chapter summary. This chapter summary was chapters 11-14. This task was for the whole week.
If you have read my summary posts before then this should make some type of sence. But if you haven't then this summary will probably make you very confused.
Have you read Hitchhickers guide to the galaxy? if you have do you like it??
Have a great weekend see you in my next blog post!
bye

HGTTG Summary 2

Hey Guys! How is your Lockdown going? Are you Exited to hear the president decide whether we move into level 2 or stay at level 3?
Today in my literacy class I had to do another summary. The reason I say another is because my teacher told my class do to one on chapters 3-6. But this time we are dong chapter7-10.
If you have already read my first summary then you will probably think that this one is better and I agree. I knew what to do this time and I got it down way quicker than my first one. I defiantly enjoyed doing this summary more. I hope you enjoyed reading. See you in my next blog post.

90 secound art

Hey bloggers! Friday has finally come. And today we had to do Fri-Yay tasks, when we do the Friyay task we get to choose what we do.
You might have seen my vegan treats truck, that was a Fri-yay task. Anyway today I chose to do 90-second push art.

I did this task on a website called Colour Push, you should give it a try! You can even do a 90-second art with your head and hands. I found that that was really cool! When you do the art you have no idea how it is going to turn out, because every time you tap somewhere it will change the colour. I think this site is really cool and that you should go and give it a go.
See you in my next blog post.

Pug-nosed frog

Hey Guys! Today in my literacy class I
had to do an article about science or technology. I chose to do science and I found one about a Pug-nosed tree frog and the Frog itself can do a cool trick, you will be able to find out when you read my article.

Have you ever seen a frog in the wild? I have only seen them in the Zoo. One thing that confused me a bit was that the frog did not have a squished up face like the Pug does.
I think he his quite cute. I hope that you learned something in my article.
Stay safe & Stay kind.

Hitchhickers Guide To The Galaxy Summary

Hey everyone! How is your week going? A couple of weeks ago, my literacy class stated to read Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy (HGTTG). I am now a chapter 6. Any way today Gilstrom literacy had to do a summary of HGTTG chapter 3 - 6. This task for me was quite hard because I kind of forgot the line of the story. But luckily I got there in the end. If you are in the Gilstrom literacy group, did you have any problems with this task?
This was the first time I wrote down a summary I hope it made sense. The book HGTTG is really absurd one thing about it that is weird is... when you finish a chapter, say you were just reading about the main characters and they have just walked out of the bar and then you go onto the next chapter you get transferred to a different planet. Yup I find it quite confusing. If you are into Sci-fi then I would recommend it to you but if you are into adventure and non-confusing books like me then I wouldn't recommend it. Have a great rest of your week and weekend. See you in my next blog.
Bye:)

Vegan treats truck

Hey Guys!
It is finally Friday! And for my classwork, we had to do some tech. I chose to make a pizza, another one of them was to create a food truck that you would have if you were to own a food truck company.
Here is my food truck it serves vegan treats; smoothies, baked goods, cookies, and lots more! My food truck is called "The Vegan Treats Truck!" and the motto is "Where the plant gives you POWER!"
Now you may be wondering why vegan. Well in the lockdown my whole family went vegan and we have started to grow our own fruit and veges. To be honest I thought that I would miss a lot of things like milk chocolate and bacon and things, but I didn't! I think everyone should try it, maybe once a week. Also, there is this movie on Netflix called "The game changers" and it is a documentary about Olympic athletes that went vegan and found that going vegan made their performances better. Have you watched it? If you don't believe me then go and watch the movie. It is pretty interesting.
I hope everyone is having a great time in their lockdown.
Stay safe and stay kind
Kia Kaha everyone!

Math, Math, Math

Hey bloggers!
How has your long weekend gone? I went for a long bike ride to the beach and I really enjoyed not having to get up at 8:30! Anyway, for these three days of school, I have had to do the math this task was quite a bit confusing but I got there in the end! Davies's math group had to calculate how many bricks were on a wall the find out how many squares were in an irregular shape and lastly find out how many coloured bricks there were. Hope the rest of your week and weekend goes well!
See you in my next blog

Socail Distancing Schedule

Hey everyone how is your lockdown going? To be honest I am getting quite bored :(
this is my first blog post in lockdown. My class has just started doing distance school and our first task was to do a work schedule! so as you can see we have a meeting in the morning so that the class knows what to do then we go and do the task that has been set for us. Then you go and post about it. once we have done that we get a break(get some fresh air, go for a run or a walk feed you animals if you live on a farm [which I do so I am pretty lucky!] or just something that you like to do. Then you have to do your leftover tasks, and finally, comment on someone's blog! I hope that you like it, have a great rest of your lockdown! :) hee

My fabulous family tree

Hello evreyone
This is my Family tree! It was a task we had to do for home work.  The whole of Toroa(my class) had to make a slide to say how their family met, there were some kids that had some amazing stories but mine is just simple. See you in my next blog!

SPCA - Pefect Poster

Kia Ora, Bloggers.
In Inquiry we did a slide about connecting with our community, in one of the slides we wrote down some companys and websites that you would go to for help. E.g. - if you knew a lady thats partner was being abusive to her you would call Womens refuge or if you found an injured animal or an animal that had a disesase you would call or contact SPCA. Which is the one that I choose. The whole class had to make a poster on any website that was on the slide. Have you ever been to the SPCA? Hope you like it!

Wonderful poem - This is just to say

Hello everyone, in litracy we had to make a parody of poem called: This is just to say by Wiliam Carlos Williams. My Parody is on the Left and the real poem is on the right and the man at the top is the writer of the peom, it is a very old poem, it was made in the time where bikes weren't even created.
Have you ever heard of this poem or heard an old poem?
